In-depth interviews to investigate the future positioning of the Spatial Quality Advisory Committee of the municipality of Haarlem. 

The municipality of Haarlem has asked José van Campen to investigate the future positioning of the Spatial Quality Advisory Committee. The research is based on a series of in-depth interviews with those involved and results in an advice on the principles for quality advice under the Planning and Environment Act. The relationship between advice from civil service, city architect and advisory committee, and the relationship with social participation will be discussed. The required conditions with regard to content, process, competences and skills of the advisory committee are also discussed.
